This is the personal website of Arun Zechariah at https://zech.in. It is a static site built with Hugo and hosted on Render. There are no user accounts, logins, contact forms or newsletters, and the site itself collects no personal data.

Cookies, analytics and local storage Link to heading

  • The site sets no first-party cookies and uses no analytics or tracking scripts.
  • The light/dark colour toggle saves your choice in your browser’s localStorage (key colorscheme). This value stays on your device and is never sent to the server. To remove it, clear this site’s data in your browser.
  • Fonts, styles, scripts and almost all images are served from zech.in itself.

Comments (Disqus) Link to heading

Comments on blog posts are provided by Disqus, a third-party service. Disqus is not loaded until you click “Show comments” at the bottom of a post. Once loaded, Disqus may set cookies and collect data such as your IP address, browser details and anything you post. Its use of that data is covered by the Disqus privacy policy.

Embedded content from other websites Link to heading

Some posts include content from other services. When a page with such an embed is loaded, your browser connects to that service, which may set cookies and collect data under its own privacy policy:

  • YouTube videos use privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com). YouTube says it does not store cookies in this mode until you play the video.
  • X (Twitter) posts and the follow/timeline widgets on the contact page load scripts from platform.twitter.com.
  • GitHub gists load a script from gist.github.com.
  • A few posts also embed Vimeo videos, Flickr photos or LinkedIn posts.

Pages without these embeds load nothing from them.

Hosting and server logs Link to heading

The site is hosted by Render. Like most web hosts, Render may record standard request data (such as IP address, requested URL, date and time, and user agent) to operate and secure its service. See the Render privacy policy. The site owner does not use these logs to identify visitors.
